Some of my favorites...

So, we had another great LONG weekend at the Oktoberfest in Helen, Ga.  My Nana is German so this has been a tradition for the last 10 years.  It is always fun, but even more so with the munchkins.  The kids are older this year and they knew what to expect so they had a blast.  When we left the Festhalle on Saturday night, Crystina said "Now we have to go home tomorrow, no more dancing".  We left early on Thursday morning.  Cameron came and woke me up by saying "I think you need to get up, we get out of bed when the sun comes up", the sun wasn't even up yet!  It's about an 8 hour drive.  The kids love to get dressed up and they looked so cute.  Mom made them special dirndls for Saturday night and the girls looked like angels. 

One of the bands Pros't was wonderful.  Not every day do you see a German polka band that plays everything from Edelwiess to Free Bird.  Cameron went tubing down the Chattahoochee river and we did a little shopping and eating too.  Of course, I also had to pick up some of our favorite Scarlet Fox wine.  We found that the old Wurst Haus where the Oktoberfest in Helen began actually burnt down last year.  And, our old friend that played the accordian at Mom and Gary's wedding passed away at 91.  All in all we had a great time as usual and I'll look forward to it again next year.

I tried to use the movie feature on my camera to capture some of the band, it is really shaky and I had to dodge all the kids, but you get the point.

Woodbelly is a local group out of Texas featuring Cas
Haley.  You may recognize the name from America's Got Talent.  Cas sang a version of Sting's Walking on the Moon, which was awesome.  After his performance, I continue to watch the show just to see what else he could do.  I found the CD through the group's Myspace page.  The CD is good, but I was hoping for more...
