What's your favorite thing to drink when it's cold outside?
Apple Cider. Starbuck's Caramel Apple Cider is wonderful... and Biltmore Estate's Wassail Spice Blend gives any plain cider a nice kick. The spice blend is good in tea too.

What is your favorite dish on the Thanksgiving table?

By far, Nana's potato salad... she uses like 10lbs of potatoes, we all fight over it. My mom has 8 brothers and sisters and there are 20 grandkids, so there is rarely any leftover. Nana has given my mom and aunts the recipe, but nobody makes it the same. I joke that she must put her finger in it or something to add that special touch. : )
Today is our 2yr anniversary. Unfortunately, Cru had to work most of the weekend.
He did have Sunday off, so we decided we'd just spend the day together. He got up early, stood in front of Target till they opened the doors to get a Nintendo Wii. We bought one for his mother last year for Christmas (yes, his mother). She's not your typical 50 year old. She has had all of the game systems and she loves Zelda. A few weekends ago we were down in Calabash visiting and we played the bowling game, which was a lot of fun. Anyway, so Cru decided we'd get one as an anniversary gift to each other. We played for a little while in the morning then we went shopping at the mall (I usually hate the mall, but we actually had a good time). Then we went to the Melting Pot for dinner, which I absolutely love. Cru had them bring me flowers and take our picture. We both hate pictures of ourselves, but we've warmed up to it lately. They printed the picture and put it in a silver frame with a little melting pot in the corner. A little cheesy, but kinda cute. The whole dinner was wonderful, our waiter was good. We haven't had a lot of time to spend just the two of us in awhile and it was really nice. Our phones didn't ring like all day either, it was great.
Show us your lunch.

I'm off work today and I've been trying to eat better so, I'm having smoky chipotle pimento cheese (from Whole Foods, it's delicious!), garden herb triscuits, banana chips and water.
What's been your worst experience at a restaurant?
A few years ago there was this place called Chuck 'Em. My husband, two friends and I decided to try it out one night. The place was fairly empty, but they had only been open a few weeks. So we sat there waiting quite awhile before the waiter finally greeted us and took our drink order. He was real flighty and we could barely understand a word he said. After we ordered it took FOREVER to get our food... our waiter was nowhere to be found. One of our friends actually went up to the bar to ask if our waited had died or what. We'd see him every now and then peek around the corner from the kitchen. The food was kinda cold, but not horrible. The waiter never refilled our drinks, it was like he was on crack or something. Needless to say the place didn't stay open very long. Months later we were at the Melting Pot and as we were leaving we noticed the same guy was working there... no joke!
