Show us your job.
My official title is Supervisor of Fraud & Risk Control - Loss Prevention Services, which is a division of the Risk Management department of a bank. Basically, our department analyzes and monitors accounts. We deal with all kinds of fraud - counterfeits, forgeries, identity theft, internet scams, etc. I absolutely love my job, sometimes it can be overwhelming, but I enjoy the challenge. I have a passion for what we do and I find the job very rewarding. I've been in the department for like six years and I don't see myself going anywhere... like the people and the company.
If you were suddenly granted the day off today, how would you go spend your free time?
As a matter of fact, I was off today. My husband I decided to take a long weekend to visit friends in Charlotte. We've been working a lot. Cru made appointments for each of us to have a 1hr massage this morning. It was wonderful...we always feel more relaxed after a visit to see Jason & Chris, so it was a great start to the weekend. We had lunch, went home to get the dog, pack and head out. We got to Charlotte, actually our friends live in Huntersville, right outside Charlotte. We went out for dinner, did a little shopping and then came home to play Wii. Now, everyone is getting tired and getting ready for bed. It is supposed to snow tomorrow, so our plan is to just hang out at home all day tomorrow just watching movies, playing games and just spending time together.
The seventh season of "American Idol" premieres tonight. Will you be watching, or are you over it?
Absolutely not. I stopped watching American Idol about seven seasons ago. I don't think I've ever even seen a full episode. I guess the idea was good in the beginning, but the first year was enough for me. EVERYONE thinks that they can sing. And yeah, they may manage to put out an album with a few half way decent songs. Now there are tons of new artists, but most of them don't make the second time around. Too many one hit wonders... I can't think of a single artist that has appeared in the last 5 years that will be around for the next five...
So I opened a bag of 100 calorie snack packs today and in the bag was like one chip... one. Someone is really trying to tell me something. I haven't been to the gym in months. I just have so much to do and a lot on my mind, but I'm still completely unmotivated. There just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day. I can't sleep at night because I've got so much on my mind with the new promotion and new projects at work. I feel like I don't spend get to talk to my friends anymore much less have dinner or drinks. I have a list of things that I've been meaning to do with my nieces and nephews like go to the zoo. I'd like to give my mom and stepdad a free night to spend together without the kids so they could have date, go to a movie, whatever. I've promised to complete a scrapbook of the kids, which I've barely begun. My sister has been trying to get us to go visit her and Joey in Beaufort too. So how do you get motivated and relax at the same time?!?

Laughter is an audible expression or appearance of merriment or amusement or an inward feeling of joy and pleasure. While it is normally only considered cliché that "laughter is the best
medicine," specific medical theories attribute improved health,
increased life expectancy, and overall improved well-being, to laughter.

What are you saving up for?
Submitted by Star.New floors downstairs. We love to have hardwoods or bamboo, but I'll settle for laminate. Last year we were all set to do laminate ourselves but we couldn't make a decision so we decided to wait. Then, of course we spent the money on other things. I am so sick of the carpet that if we don't do something soon, I'm ripping out the carpet and just painting the concrete!
About a month or so ago one of my husband's client's gave up tickets to a Hurricanes game. We had 4 tickets so we took along Cru's nephew and our friend Ryan (neither had ever been to a game). We didn't know until we got there that our seats were second row from the ice right next to the goal! We've been to several games, but never had seats this good. Ryan happened to bring along his camera and he finally uploaded pics of the game. Unfortunately, the Canes lost the game... but there was a lot of action. Since Cru is at another game tonight with Alfonso, I decided to post.
This year we decide
d to have a little bit of fun with the kids' Christmas card. These kids love to dress up and they love their picture taken.
Our Christmas tradition: After dark on Christmas Eve we all go for a ride to look at lights (and Santa's sleigh or Rudolph's nose in the sky). While we are out, Santa comes! When we get back home there are gifts in front of the tree, stockings are full, cookies and milk are gone. Our whole family left the house together and locked the doors on the way out. I believed in Santa till I was almost a teen. We know the meaning of Christmas, but the innocence of kids who believe in Santa is delightful, it makes the joy of Christmas that much better. So, we decided to follow our old traditions with the nieces and nephews this year. While Grandma, Grandpa and the kids were out for their ride, my husband Cru and I went over to put out the gifts, etc. Cru actually dressed up as Santa (without the beard, just the suit). As they pulled up in the drive way, Cru was bent over at the front door. The kids saw the red suit and began screaming "He's here!" and "I see Santa!". They ran up to the house as Cru ran out the back door. Once in the living room the kids forgot about Santa, they were distracted by all the new bikes and toys under the tree. Cru jumped the fence and dropped the costume around the side of the house. He and I came in the side door, the kids never suspected. It probably helps that they are only 2, 3, 4 and 5, but it was great. : )
