Today is "No Housework Day." Tell us: What's your least favorite chore around the house?
DUST!! Of course I don't like any housework, but I absolutely hate to dust. And, to make it worse we have all black or dark furniture...go figure.
Loathes:
- back pain
- the dog not wanting to go potty outside in the snow
- waiting on Girl Scout cookies to arrive
- soft hands after a paraffin wax
- pretty tulips my hubby brought home
- finishing something I started
Today is the first day of the Season of Lent. Are you giving anything up for the next 40 days?
Yes... I've decided to give up all soda. This is something I've been meaning to cut down on anyway, Lent just gives me that extra push to do it.
It's been almost a year since our beloved 10 yrs old Yorkie, Fergie, passed on. We've missed her so much. Lately we'd been thinking on getting another dog. The house is too quiet, we're missing something. So, we've been looking on craigslist, visiting the shelters and SPCA, looking for the right dog for us. We'd know when it felt right. Last weekend we went to visit the in-laws. Needless to say, we ended up coming home with this adorable little miniature schnauzer. My husband, who really wanted a bigger "man's dog", just feel in love with her. She's so cute and playful. Now, we have work on training (for us) since it's been so long since we've had a puppy, puppy. She's 4lbs, very smart and she looks like a little granny. Bella will never take the place of Fergie, but we love her just as much.
- I have to wear a watch everyday or I feel naked.
- If I am out of conditioner, I don't leave the house.
- I have a hard time going without some kind of caffeine (longest I've been able to go without is 40 days for Lent).
- I refuse to write with a chewed up pen or one that is missing the top.
- I will not wear jeans that don't have back pockets.
- It's not right to eat Mexican food without sour cream.
- If we are going out of town or on a trip, I like to have some kind of plan.
- I don't know how we enjoyed TV before DVR.
- If cheese is an option, I want it.
- Ice cold water, not room temperature.
- I can't brush my teeth until I wet the toothbrush.
- I often have to change the purse I use.
- I have to hear "I love you" from my husband before I go to bed and before I hang up the phone.
What's your favorite TV commercial?
Submitted by MexicanRobot.I don't know why I think this is funny... I can't help but laugh!
My husband's father passed away last Tuesday. The relationship between my husband & his father was strained, so it was more difficult to deal with it I think. I've never been this close the dealing with funeral arrangements, etc. Michael did not have a plan for what he wanted so trying to figure out what he would want was very confusing and even exhausting. There is so much to think about. I was surprised at how well my husband handled himself. Everyone around us was so caring and thoughtful during this time. With this, the holidays and my birthday (which means I'm just getting older) I've been thinking about my life and the people in it. I've decided to talk more about what I would want should something happen. Through the years, I've had friends come & go. Usually, you don't even realize its happening, just one day you've lost touch. And before you know it, they're gone... they may not know the impact they had on your life or how much they meant to you. I don't usually keep new years resolutions after about April... so I'm not going to call it that, but I'm going to make a point to tell people that I love them. I want to make sure that I spend time with the people I care about while I can. Life is too precious and too short to stress over the little things and take for granted the things that really matter.
